The Forces Division is the Inquisition's army in Kirkwall. It provides security for the base there and also for Inquisition agents on missions, shipments, and guests. It also includes the base's healers, and all the other support staff necessary to the outfitting and maintenance of an army, include smiths, engineers, stable workers, and the like.

REPORTS
Forms & Information
Personnel Issue
There has been a small altercation involving a member of your division (Ser Cade Harriman), and another (Seeker Aleron Darton) within the Inquisition's Research division. Though the Warden Bethany Hawke was present, I am told that she attempted to deescalate the situation.
A woman (one “Rhona") slapped Darton, to which Harriman responded by slamming her to the ground. Darton had him hold her there, and then by the arms. To my knowledge there were no lasting injuries. I have enclosed a more detailed summary of events, and will forward the same to Monsieur de Foncé.
This might be dismissed as a response to unprovoked attack, were the level of force returned not so violently disproportionate. Harriman’s history of rash action is a matter of record; however, I wish to note that he voluntarily reports to the Seeker. Upon speaking with Darton, the Seeker expressed that he felt justified in his handling of the incident. Having previously led Harriman within Inquisition operations, I must respectfully disagree.
We are in the Gallows — this is no excuse to stage a reenactment.
Regards,
— Ser Coupe
personnel issue, OR: gigi writes a stern letter.
Lord Harlungin,
I wish to complain in the strongest possible terms about the gross negligence in failing to provide Templar Cade Harriman with suitable training before permitting him to serve in the Inquisition. Recent events have come to my attention which can only be described as inevitable in the circumstances, which are as I see it the plain fact he will continue to behave as his training dictates if he is not given proper and thorough instruction and guidance through what is now required of him. He has expressed to me a wish to be retrained by Ser Coupe, and nothing should ever please me more than to be able to speak later of her success if this is permitted. I understand her to be an exemplary professional with a ready grasp of the dynamic and volatile situation we face in Kirkwall.
It would disappoint me as much to be obliged to speak of anything else.
Sincerely,
Lady Gwenaëlle Vauquelin
( she's not saying she'd drag the Inquisition in public for executing him, but she's not saying she wouldn't, either. )

PERSONNEL
Leading Officials
Former Division Head, Lord Rourke Harlungin:
A bluff, blustery man in his early 60s native to Kirkwall, and best known for his participation in the battle against Viscount Perrin Threnhold in 9:21. He led the division until it became clear that his charisma and previous good fortune were not accompanied by any actual talent for leadership.
Former Division Head, Iskandar (
A cheerful rifter who briefly led the division before his sudden disappearance in Harvestmere 9:43.
Current Division Head, Ser Luwenna Coupe (
An Orlesian templar, previously a lieutenant of the White Spire. Appointed in Haring 9:43.
FORCES DIVISION INBOX

I have had reports reach my desk of a shipwreck by some islands not far from the coastline here with some troubling signs reported by those who have seen them. Unnatural lights that have caused other ships and small vessels to wreck themselves, the sailors not returning. Those who report it - sailors for the most - blame it on demons.
Given my knowledge of sailing and the possibility that it might be a rift or some other activity like it, I'll be taking a small team to look into this. Myself, Rey, and Helena will be going as those in possession of anchors should they be required, Korrin Ataash and Ser Norrington both as members of the Naval Presence project and for their skills, and Ser Ashlock to have another Templar with us, as well as his confidence about ships and sailing.
With the current climate, I only wish to let you know that this should take no longer than a weekend to get there and back with fair winds, and that we are well accounted for with two Templars accompanying us. Tensions have been high, three rifters and one so closely involved all leaving on a ship could be read in many ways but this is very much an investigation into a matter we can resolve. Right now, I believe the distraction of work can only be a good thing, and helping out those we live by is a worthy cause.
I take full responsibility for anything that occurs, and if you wish to contact me, my sending crystal will be with me at all times if we have to return sooner due to circumstances in Kirkwall.
Yours,
Araceli Bonaventura y Castell
[Written in her smallest hand however because she is twenty-two and petty about Madame de Cedoux so she hopes you have spectacles Ser Coupe.]

ASSIGNMENTS & MISSIONS
(frozen comment) Information
Every month or two (depending on game plot load), there will be assignments or missions available to members of the Forces division. Your character can either volunteer for these, or be ordered to do them IC.
Only Forces division members may sign up, but non-division members can assist.
Submit a report here when the event’s completed. If you don’t submit a report, it didn’t happen!
ASSIGNMENTS:
Assignments are tasks without any major impact on the game setting. Think of them as prompts to give your character something to do or talk about.
MISSIONS:
Larger, and more involved than assignments. These are limited events that have potential to impact the game setting.
NOTES:
Cloudreach 9:44
If you’re interested in these, sign up your character by April 7th.
Signup slots are guidelines; if there’s more or less interest than expected, we’ll modify the numbers.
GET DOWN WITH THE SICKNESS
WHAT: Determine which Inquisition personnel will accept magical healing, and who won’t. Which healers/doctors/etc have non-magical techniques at their disposal? Are some people chill with some types of healing magic, and not others? Take a survey, or go find out in person — getting injured first isn't a requirement.
Only one report should be filed. Don’t worry about including everything (these are only prompts!), just talk about what your characters did.
WHO: 1 - 3 people.
WHERE: Kirkwall.
MEET ME IN THE PIT
WHAT: There are combatants spread across every division, and everyone’s called upon in a time of need. Find and spar with (willing!!) Inquisition personnel outside of Forces, and report back on the results. Did you discover anything unexpected about your technique, or theirs? Speaking with Rifters is encouraged.
Each character should file their own report. Don’t worry about including everything (these are only prompts!), just talk about what your characters did.
WHO: Unlimited.
WHERE: Kirkwall.
HOW MUCH IS THAT DOGGIE IN THE WINDOW (COSTING US WEEKLY)
WHAT: The Inquisition is brimming with animals: Griffins, mounts, companions, combatants — even the slugs in the gardens. Who owns what, and how are they used about base? What plans are place to care for them, should their present owners be unable to? Can we weaponize the nugs?
Only one report should be filed. Don’t worry about including everything (these are only prompts!), just talk about what your characters did.
WHO: 1 - 3 people.
WHERE: Kirkwall.

Bloomingtide 9:44
If you’re interested in these, sign up your character by May 7th.
Signup slots are guidelines; if there’s more or less interest than expected, we’ll modify the numbers. Please don't worry about meeting hard-and-fast dates for reports, either — a month is a good estimate, but I'm not going to freak out if you need a week.
DOWN N' DIRTY
WHAT: In "honour" of the Grand Tourney, a group of Fereldan ex-refugees are hosting their own competition this month: Mud wrestling. The Inquisition's members have been invited to participate, so bring home victory — and a trophy. There's definitely a trophy.
Only one report should be filed. Don’t worry about including everything (these are only prompts!), just talk about what your characters did.
WHO: 1 - 3 people.
WHERE: Kirkwall.
POP SOME TAGS
WHAT: The Grand Tourney will attract fighters from all Thedas: Check out what they’re wearing. Are there styles of armor that you haven’t seen before? Craftsmen who might be convinced to exchange ideas, or to sell to the Inquisition directly? Did you get to try anything new?
Each character should file their own report. Don’t worry about including everything (these are only prompts!), just talk about what your characters did.
WHO: Unlimited.
WHERE: Wycome.
SUNK COST
With the weather warming up (and the ever-present threat of naval doom blah lbah) it's important that Inquisition should know how to swim. Who does or doesn't? Offer lessons, or practice your own backstroke, or just have a big splash fight.
Only one report should be filed. Don’t worry about including everything (these are only prompts!), just talk about what your characters did.
WHO: 1 - 3 people.

Justinian 9:44
If you’re interested in these, sign up your character by June 8th.
Signup slots are guidelines; if there’s more or less interest than expected, we’ll modify the numbers. Please don't worry about meeting hard-and-fast dates for reports, either — a month is a good estimate, but I'm not going to freak out if you need a week.
NOTE: While you aren't required to thread the specific assignment, your report must link a thread where it is used in some way.
Even if it's only characters hanging out afterwards, or talking about how much the assignment sucks. I realize this has been unclear in the past, so it only applies to assignments going forward! If a given assignment doesn't need to be threaded at all, I'll mark it accordingly.
WHOSE LIFE IS IT ANYWAY
WHAT: Sometimes you have to improvise. Find things that aren't weapons (maybe you could ask around for weird stuff to borrow?) and practice fighting with them. Throw sand in your friends' eyes, bludgeon each other with candlesticks, and watch out for bananas. No magic is allowed for this task.
Only one report should be filed. Don’t worry about including everything (these are only prompts!), just talk about what your characters did.
WHO: 1 - 3 people.
WHERE: Kirkwall.
BRAVE CAMP-ANIONS
WHAT: Take a quick trip outside the city to test Inquisition tents, and try building your own shelter. What’s easy to set up? What holds up well against the weather? Does anything need repairs? Did you figure out the ideal ‘smore ingredients, or ghost stories to demoralize the enemy? Team bonding!!
Only one report should be filed. Don’t worry about including everything (these are only prompts!), just talk about what your characters did.
WHO: 1 - 3 people.
WHERE: Outside Kirkwall.
ESCOUTURE
A dwarven clan influential in the Kirkwall Merchant’s Guild is hosting counterparts from the Imperium while they renegotiate certain contracts. Under the current political climate, both families are wary of outside interference, and have requested Inquisition assistance in securing the meeting. Make sure that nothing sketchy happens, entertain the bored relatives, and most importantly: look good doing it. Proper attire will be provided, at the merchants’ expense.
Only one report should be filed. Don’t worry about including everything (these are only prompts!), just talk about what your characters did.

If you’re interested in these, sign up your character by July 22nd.
Signup slots are guidelines; if there’s more or less interest than expected, we’ll modify the numbers. Please don't worry about meeting hard-and-fast dates for reports — a month is a good estimate, but it doesn’t matter much.
NOTE: While you aren't required to thread the specific assignment, your report must link a thread where it is used in some way.
Even if it's only characters hanging out afterwards, or talking about how much the assignment sucks. This now qualifies you for an AC bonus.
LOWTOWN AND ORDER
WHAT: In a bid to improve relations with the Kirkwall guard — and poach anyone with second thoughts — your characters will speak with their recruits about the exciting and necessary stuff the Inquisition does in the Gallows, and how we can all work together for a safer city. Be inspirational, and keep an eye on any particularly promising trainees.
Only one report should be filed. Don’t worry about including everything (these are only prompts!), just talk about what your characters did.
WHO: 1 - 3 people.
WHERE: Kirkwall.
LIKE A WRECKING BALL
WHAT: Visit the Wounded Coast, and use the local piles of uninhabited rock to test the most efficient way to break into, destroy, or otherwise open up an area through force. Using non-magical methods — or cooperation with non-mages — is strongly encouraged. Bandit or giant crab encounters optional.
Only one report should be filed. Don’t worry about including everything (these are only prompts!), just talk about what your characters did.
WHO: 1 - 3 people.
WHERE: The Wounded Coast.
CAREER DAY
WHAT: Shadow a (PC) member of another division through their duties. What did you learn about what they do? How can you apply that to your own work? Do you and these frail nerds have something in common after all?
Each character should file their own report. Don’t worry about including everything (these are only prompts!), just talk about what your characters did.
WHO: Unlimited.
WHERE: Anywhere.
