Figuring out how to permanently strengthen the veil to prevent further tears, who and what rifters are, and how to prevent the anchors from eventually killing those who have them are all high priorities. Kirkwall's particularly thin Veil makes it a good—if slightly dangerous—testing ground for many of these efforts.

[Through the power of magical fast forwarding!

Prompto's knocking on her office door.]

Inessa?

[circleprodigy]

[Glancing up from her desk, Inessa raises her voice.]

Enter.

[Garahel is sprawled out on the floor, lightly snoring away and twitching in his sleep as Inessa has set out some fresh paper and quills.]

[Prompto pushes open the door, offering Inessa smile.]

Hey. Did you still want to talk to me?

Of course! Please, have a seat...and ignoring the snoring.

[Garahel stirs a little, but he's been worn out enough that he doesn't truly awaken.]

Would you like some tea?

[crowncitizen]

[Prompto chuckles at Garahel. Usually he'd give his ears a scratch, but he doesn't want to wake him up.]

He's all right. I've heard way louder, anyway. [Noct and Gladio combined.] Sure, if you wouldn't mind!

Absolutely not, it just gives me an excuse to pour some for myself as well.

[She moves to pour. It's simple green tea this time, but there is a container of honey to go with it.]

I'm glad you brought this up, by the way. I had not previously heard about this phenomenon before.

[crowncitizen]

Always glad to provide an excuse for tea.

[He leans back in the chair as she pours.]

Doesn't seem to be real common, but I guess it's happened before.

[Offering him a cup, she then sits down with her own.]

Tell me about yours. How long had you been here, when it took place?

[crowncitizen]

Just a few months, I think. Four or so? [Prompto thanks her for the cup, taking a deliberately long sip.] It felt like I was back home. Several days passed, and a lot happened. A lot of people said it was just a vivid dream, but even now, months after the fact, I still remember a lot of it. Just... doesn't feel like a dream, you know?

[circleprodigy]

[Four months, several days...all that is noted down.]

Where there any physical changes to you, after you had awoken? Changes that had happened during this 'dream'?

[crowncitizen]

Ah, no. Not that I'm aware of, anyway.

[circleprodigy]

[She nods, slightly disappointed as physical proof could also be vital, but she trusts Prompto at his word. He's never given reason for her to think otherwise.]

You said a lot happened. Would you be comfortable sharing any of that with me?

[crowncitizen]

[He immediately stiffens at the question. Good thing she gave him the choice and didn't demand it, because ah... there's a whole lot he's not sure he's ready to share. If he ever will be.]

Ah... maybe some of it. But a lot of it involves stuff that Thedas doesn't have or know about. [It was all like something out of a sci-fi horror show.] The gist of it is I got separated from my friends and wound up collapsing. I got taken by the enemy into a facility of theirs and had to fight my way out. Got some help from a former enemy commander turned good guy.

[circleprodigy]

[Her eyebrows raise at all that, but then she goes back to jotting down what he's willing to share, so that such revelations aren't wasted.]

...that must have been quite an ordeal. I don't doubt your fighting ability, but I'm glad you had assistance, all the same.

[crowncitizen]

That's definitely a good word for it.

[Not to mention emotionally taxing, complete with an identity crisis and guns akimbo.]

I don't know what I would have done if Aranea wasn't there. She kicked my butt a few times to get me on my feet and moving.

[circleprodigy]

[Inessa smiles a little at that, nodding.]

She reminds me of Ciri, then. Ciri would force me to keep going in Weisshaupt, no matter what.

[crowncitizen]

Haven't met Ciri, but she definitely sounds like a tough cookie. [The world needs more Ciri and Aranea types.] Yeah, I heard things went down pretty hard there awhile back.

Really? I'll have to introduce you sometime, then.

[Putting the topic back on track, because she has no interest in discussing Weisshaupt.]

I'm uncertain what else to ask; there hasn't been an established interview for such things, though perhaps there should be. Is there anything else relevant you believe I ought to know?

[And he won't push it, especially since Inessa's not volunteering the info herself. After all, he has his own bad experiences that he's kept to himself. He gets it.]

Not... that I can think of? I mean, as crazy as it is, that's just what happened: I went to sleep, remembered more stuff from home - or experienced it - and woke up here the next morning.
