SUBJECT: War Table Op: Once More Into The Berg PARTICIPANTS: Anders, Alan, Ciri, Inessa, Jamie, Prompto DATE FILED: Let's pretend it was back in June STATUS: Complete SUMMARY: A team went to the First Warden's birthday party pretending to be entertainers as they tried to gather information. They juggled, eavesdropped, looked a little ridiculous... and managed to achieve their goal and find out some stuff.
REPORT:
Lord Baerendorf,
I am glad to inform you that none of the group sent to the First Warden's party suffered serious injuries other than, perhaps, to their pride when they wore what was sent with us to wear. I hope no drawings were made. We have returned safely with information that I hope proves useful.
Those gathered appeared to represent every human nation, but more north-leaning than south, and a heavy topic of their discussion was transporting something from their nations to the south and the difficulties presented now that the war has ended in Orlais. The Deep Roads are one of the options they seemed to seriously be considering, something that our Wardens can perhaps assist more with.
Speaking of Wardens, it was overheard that dissenters have been subdued. This does not bode well for any hopes of an alliance against Corypheus with the full Warden forces, and using them does not seem that practical at the moment because it appears no one at the party knows what Corypheus is doing or planning, including the First Warden. They've a lot of people in a network, but that network apparently isn't learning about Corypheus.
A project was mentioned, some Tevene word that none of us can recall exactly, but I'm fairly certain we'd know it if we heard it again. Unfortunately, writing notes down wasn't precisely a smart move in the middle of a party. There were also a few uncovered faces none of us recognized, but might if we saw them again.
I found it noteworthy, also, that there seemed to be some tension between the mages and non-mages. Historically Wardens don't divide like that too often, though my time at Vigil's Keep suggests it's not entirely an aberration.
I am free for any further questions you may have. I am not sorry that the costumes do not appear to have made it back with us. The next time you ask me to wear bells I swear I will create a glyph that chimes like bells when it senses motion and stick fifty of them in your rooms. With all due respect.
